History of ZUKEN ELMIC

1977
Established in Yokohama, as a total system house for the purpose of developing hardware and software related to microcomputers.
1983
Got authorization of preferential treatment for the ELX series based on the Special Taxation Measures Law from the Information Technology Promotion Agency.
Released ELX-86M, a real-time/multitask monitor for i8086.
Released the EL-ICS series of intelligent communications controllers.
1984
Released ELX-68K, a real-time/multitask monitor for the M68000 series.
Established the Osaka Office.
Started mass production of hardware boards.
1985
Produced and released EL-PAD/PC, a control system for DDX packet network terminals.
1986
Released MULTITASK BOX.
1988
Released the extended versions of PC-COM/V50 and the ELX board series.
1989
Released a multifunctional telephone set for emergency report.
Released ELX-286, a real-time/multitask monitor for i80286.
Increased the capital to 62.5 million yen
1990
Increased the capital to 136 million yen.
Started developing CASP, a caddieless golf course system.
1991
Released the PC-INS series of ISDN boards.
1992
Made the first delivery of the CASP caddieless golf course system.
1993
Released mp-ins, an  ISDN board for LAN-WAN connection via ISDN. Implemented the PPP-over-ISDN feature first in the world.
Increased the capital to 147.69 million yen.
1995
Released GEM, a communications software package for semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Released ISDN boards for MS-Windows NT.
1996
Got Microsoft "get ISDN" first in the world.
Released Surf 2 Surf EZ, an ISDN board for Internet access.
Increased the capital to 204.99 million yen.
Established the Kawasaki Technical Center.
1997
Produced and released LAN-related hardware.
Released the XCOM series.
Increased the capital to 327.54 million yen.
1998
Released COMBO/56, a PC card for Internet connection. (Combination product of a 56k modem and a LAN adapter)
Released the ELX for RISC-embedded equipment.
Authorized by Microsoft as "Preferred Provider" - an authorized SI for Microsoft Windows® CE.
Released Web Server and Mailer, Kasago TCP/IP applications.
1999
Developed Kasago Web Browser and Kasago Web Browser for Windows® CE.
Licensed as a distributor of Microsoft Windows® CE.
2000
Released the ELX-ITRON.
IPO on the Mothers Stock Exchange on 25 July.
Released the SoftCom series.
Established Elmic Systems USA, Inc. in San Francisco, CA.
2001
Established Airfolc Inc. in Kyoto
Invested in ELT Inc.
Formed alliance with MontaVista Software Japan on embedded Linux solution
Launched development of embedded Linux acceleration tool in colaboration with NEC
Affiliates WESCOM Inc. by capital investment.
